At the time, there were zealous students influenced by the emerging Charismatic movement as well as by the Puritans. My friend expressed the view that rather decide between one or the other, one could /should embrace both.

I recently watched a 7-minute video: “Matt Le Tissier joins Nigel Farage for Talking Pints”, which packed a lot in and showed refreshing insights you won’t see in mainstream media from two heroes of mine. Both rightly question the official narrative and are unafraid to say so, resulting in considerable flak dished out by the “Unholy Trinity, who continue to dumb down the public.

A challenge for any serious Bible student (which I encourage my readers to be) is NOT to cherry pick when studying the Bible and, even when not sufficiently understanding why, for example, God should order the killing of whole people groups (men, women and even children and animals) we mustn’t ignore or downplay difficult sections simply because they don’t tie in with our preconceptions or offend our sensibilities, making it seem God does not make sense.

It has long been a tradition in many churches, including my own, ever since the armistice was signed to end World War 1, at 11am on November 11th, 1918, to remember those who lost their lives in that war and also in wars after that, typically on the Sunday following the anniversary of the ending of hostilities.
