Christian Newspapers and Heart Publications

I was recently handed the December / January edition of Heart, a Christian newspaper, which has a strapline “Sharing Christian News Across the Nation”. See here for its website.

Puritans, Sin and Satan

In my spiritually formative years, when I was a student at London University 1970-73, I recall a conversation with the very spiritually minded leader of the Christian Union. At the time, there were zealous students influenced by the emerging Charismatic movement as well as by the Puritans. My friend expressed the view that rather decide between one or the other, one could /should embrace both.

Elijah Streams and why things are taking so long

One of the questions people like me ask, who believe there are very evil people running the world and getting away with it, if there are “white hats”, typically military operating behind the scenes, that have their measure and can do (and to an extent are doing) something about it, why delay stopping these evil doers?

The Coronavirus and the cloud that may have a silver lining

Since the beginning of 2020, the outbreak of Corona-19 has proved a big deal in all sorts of ways and it wouldn’t be overstating the case if we declare this and the “vaccine” that goes with it as drastically affecting us all. While we are now back to some sort of normality,

Three Christian virtues I should have paid more attention to when young: are godliness, kindness and faithfulness.

The 2022 T20 men’s Cricket World Cup – some reflections

I have been following the finals of the 2022 T20 men’s Cricket World Cup, taking place in Australia, and have enjoyed doing so. Today is the final of the finals; I write while listening to BBC TMS.
