According to Wikipedia: “Pizzagate is a debunked conspiracy theory that emerged during the 2016 United States presidential election cycle. The theory, which went viral, claimed that John Podesta’s emails, which were leaked by WikiLeaks, contained coded messages referring to human trafficking and connecting a number of restaurants in the United States and members of the Democratic Party with a fabricated child-sex ring. The false theory has been extensively discredited by a wide array of organizations and described as a “fictitious conspiracy theory” by the District of Columbia Police Department”. One conspiracy theorist, Alex Jones, recently went on record, apologizing for naming certain restaurants as being involved in this crime, yet defiantly claiming that child sex trafficking involving the rich and powerful, sometimes linked to Satanic rituals, some involving child sacrifice, is prevalent and invariably covered up by the main perpetrators, often from among the higher echelons of society, all of which got me thinking.
Child sex trafficking is not a subject I relish tackling, and neither are conspiracy theories that do not stand the test of rigorous scrutiny. I would rather ignore the matter and focus on any number of nice topics, but my concerns are such that I raise the matter here by way of a stake in the ground and mindful that of all the subjects I tackle this is one that needs handling sensitively and where evidence needs to be carefully gathered and assessed before venturing forth with opinions or naming names. Dealing as I regularly do with the twilight zone, I am all too aware of stories of pedophilia and that if unsubstantiated claims are made they can cause untold damage toward the innocent. But here we are not just talking about child pornography or crimes committed by family or those close to the victim (as bad as this is) but whether or not there are organized pedophile rings involving nigh impossible to confront powerful elements that have continued unchecked, leading to untold abuse and permanent damage and all too often the death of the victims.
In recent years all sorts of scandals have come to light: that around Jimmy Saville, the Rotherham ring, that which went on in the Catholic church, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. A number of famous personalities have been implicated and some have been charged and convicted. For others, particularly when old or dead, suspicion lurks and it would be imprudent to name names until charges are proved. In the UK at least there have been attempts at judicial enquiries, although fraught with difficulty given some meant to lead the investigation have been found to have links with some of those implicated in what had gone on in the past. The issue of high level cover up is a worrying one. Going back to Jimmy Saville, for example (and there are others I could name but won’t for now), many knew or at least suspected his involvement with pedophile activity but kept quiet out of fear. A further worrying aspect is the large number of children, all over the world, that go missing and the number found that have ended up as victims of sex trafficking.
As I say, I am holding fire going into detail and finding myself quickly out of my depth. But citing the American example, there has been a large number of arrests recently of people charged and convicted of child sex offences and, given the relative media silence, this raises concerns. And what if there are high level pedophile rings perpetrating these crimes, as the conspiracy theorists suggest, should not something be done to find out one way or another, taking into account that ruthless, powerful people we do all in their considerable power to prevent truth coming to light and justice being done? While conspiracy theorists like David Icke and Alex Jones are castigated by mainstream media, and caution needs to be exercised, some of the points they make (e.g. see here) warrant further examination. Widespread and well coordinated big name involvement, satanic abuse including murder, something the Deep State uses to control people and high level cover ups are some of the claims being made. I sense there will be big revelations to come and, just maybe, when President Trump talks of draining the swamp, what we are starting to see is a significant part of that swamp.
Hardly a week goes by when I learn of yet another case of someone convicted of pedophilia. Usually these are isolated cases, often involving possession of child pornography or sexual abuse of minors. Sometimes, and alarmingly, it is someone we know, who we did not suspect. These are small fry given the scale of what is going on and begs the question: why is more not being done to go after the worst culprits who use their power to escape justice? Surely bringing to justice the big and nasty players ought to be a priority. When I was fifteen, I recall a conversation with my Christian youth club leader. He quoted a verse and to this day I don’t fully know the context or reason why. The verse was: “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea” Matthew 18:6. As I reflect on my subject, I realize that God cares for these little ones who are abused and we owe it to them to stop this crime and bring their abusers to justice.
