Christ in the Books of Moses
In a recent post (see here), I announced my intention to do a series on Christ in the Old Testament, which in the Hebrew Bible can be divided into three sections (Law, Prophets, Writings), referring back to two incidents recorded in Luke 24, following Jesus rising from the dead, when he told his bemused disciples how His life, death and resurrection were all foretold in the Old Testament.

Today, I had lunch with my sister at Oldhams Fish Restaurant (see here for their website and see here for their Facebook page), in Westcliff (near to the Palace Theatre). It wasn’t planned but we both liked the idea of catching up while eating nicely cooked fish and chips and both of us have good memories of Oldhams over many years, and it was this that finally influenced our decision.

I have now come to another difficult to write about subject that I declared I would do soon after writing my “Watching from my wall (2024/25)” blog (see here) that I posted at the end of last year. It concerns masts that are regularly popping up all over the place of late and is all about, supposedly, the ongoing improvements being made in our national telecommunications infrastructure. It is a difficult task for, while my gut feeling is that this is an extremely important subject, it is not one that I am particularly expert on.

Some will argue too little is being done to ensure “It” is satisfactorily dealt with, even though few disagree that the wellbeing of children is important while disputing what this amounts to and how achieved.

Less than a month ago, toward the end of 2024, I wrote my “Watching from my wall (2024/25) – an introduction” blog (see here), where I identified ten concerning subjects, that have come to my attention as a watchman on the wall, that I proposed to write about soon. One was titled: “The Climate Emergency – hoax or for real”, which I knew would be a challenge, especially as I have regular exchanges with friends who emphatically believe climate change is for real, one of which frequently castigates the “right wing” press for denying the climate emergency reputable scientists know is for real, another taking me and others detractors to task for our lack of research, and yet another scornful that anyone should prefer conspiracy theories over scientific facts.

He is a controversial and outspoken character and has been a lot in the news recently.
