“It” being the safety and wellbeing of our children that has been under attack throughout the world, besides the UK, on many fronts. Some will argue too little is being done to ensure “It” is satisfactorily dealt with, even though few disagree that the wellbeing of children is important while disputing what this amounts to and how achieved.

The Climate “Emergency” and the Los Angeles Fires
Less than a month ago, toward the end of 2024, I wrote my “Watching from my wall (2024/25) – an introduction” blog (see here), where I identified ten concerning subjects, that have come to my attention as a watchman on the wall, that I proposed to write about soon. One was titled: “The Climate Emergency – hoax or for real”, which I knew would be a challenge, especially as I have regular exchanges with friends who emphatically believe climate change is for real, one of which frequently castigates the “right wing” press for denying the climate emergency reputable scientists know is for real, another taking me and others detractors to task for our lack of research, and yet another scornful that anyone should prefer conspiracy theories over scientific facts.
Continue readingTrumpwatch 66 – Trump’s inauguration and what to expect

Trump, the 45th President of the USA, will once again be inaugurated, this time as its 47th President, and few doubt that this will be of major significance and will have a huge bearing on future world events.

Continue readingMy surveying the UK’s depressing political scene and deciding how best to respond
People may have noticed that despite in recent times my blogging a lot on things happening in the world, especially the USA, a lot of my most recent blogs have touched on the goings on in UK politics.
Continue readingLunch at the Last Post
An old mate dropped by my pad recently for a catch up and we decided to go and have lunch. I had in mind a “Toby Carvery” but my friend suggested we go for a “Wetherspoons”, which have a number of pubs and eating outlets across the country, some of which he had frequented in the recent past and quite liked.
Continue readingReform UK, Labour, Community Cohesion and Muslim Rape Gangs
I little imagined that after posting my “Tommy Robinson is a hero” blog five days ago (see here) things would blow up the way they have, bringing together some seemingly unrelated interests.
Continue readingTortured for Christ – a message for our time
Yesterday, I finished reading a book: “Tortured for Christ”, which I had previously read and was moved by when a young Christian, mindful of how Christians suffered under Communism. The book had earlier been given to my wife by a Romanian Lady who attends our church. Today, another friend posted the following text, titled FORGIVENESS, LOVE AND DEATH, on his Facebook page …
