One of my observations concerning people who are growing old is how often they would be able to remember things going back 50 years yet could forget something that took place 5 minutes earlier. I have now joined that club yet I can remember every single car I ever owned. I should add that I have little interest in what are the subtle differences between the different models of car, I don’t like spending much money on cars and I tend to drive cars to the point when a change becomes somewhere between desirable and necessary.

I had a dream
I often have dreams and many are weird and forgettable, despite in most cases not remembering what it was that I had dreamed about.

Most of my blogging is to do with two, in polite circles, taboo subjects – religion and politics. Sometimes the two overlap, and sometimes they overlap a lot, as in this one concerning money.
Continue readingChrist in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy
One of my latest Bible study projects is to go through all of the Old Testament and reflect on those texts that have something to do with Jesus Christ. I am leading Bible studies on the subject at my local church, under the title of “Christ in the Old Testament” and last night we concentrated our attentions on Christ in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. It has two parliamentary constituencies and while there have been boundary changes during the time I lived there, one covering the East side of the City and the other the West side, most of that time I lived on the East side, although now I am living in the West.

On February 12th 2014, I began posting blogs on my website jrbpublications.com and have been blogging away, along with my forays into Facebook, ever since. This is post no. 2432!
Continue readingIslamic Britain; Islamophobic Britain?
The matter of Britain losing its way in all sorts of ways is a matter of great concern for me and others, many viewed as deplorable and far right, bigots by their detractors. This, along with what are commonly understood British values (such as those set out in meme below), do they still exist, which ones are desirable, are themes that underlie some of the rants contained in my blogs in recent years. Linked to these deliberations is the question of the desirability and influence of Islam, whether or not this is welcomed or significant?
