Yesterday, I had an interesting experience, which has led me to writing this blog that is to do with the subject found in the title. I watched / listened to two short, poignant videos featuring the well known “conspiracy theorists” Charlie Ward and David Icke. Before sharing what I found so fascinating, let me first backtrack.

One thing I did, by way of preparation, was to ask Meta AI: “what is the difference between the great reset and great awakening and what to expect?”, to which it responded:
“The Great Reset and Great Awakening are two distinct concepts with different origins and implications.
The Great Reset is an initiative by the World Economic Forum (WEF) aimed at rebuilding the global economy in a more sustainable and equitable way, post-COVID-19. It focuses on advancing stakeholder capitalism, building resilient and sustainable systems, and harnessing innovations from the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Key aspects include:
– Sustainable Development: Emphasizing environmental sustainability and reducing carbon footprint.
– Economic Reform: Promoting stakeholder capitalism and fairer economic outcomes.
– Technological Advancements: Leveraging technology for public good and sustainable growth.
The Great Awakening, on the other hand, refers to a spiritual or consciousness shift, often associated with personal growth, enlightenment, and a higher state of awareness. Some believe it’s a collective transformation, aligning with astrological and energetic alignments, prophecies, and global crises.
What to Expect:
– Great Reset: Potential changes in global economic systems, increased focus on sustainability, and technological innovations. However, some critics view it as a potential threat to individual freedoms and national sovereignty.
– Great Awakening: A possible shift in collective consciousness, increased spiritual awareness, and personal growth. Some predict a more harmonious and enlightened society, while others see it as a call to action for personal transformation”.
While I found the answer helpful, it didn’t entirely align with my own understanding and expectations. Going back nearly three years, and for some time prior to that, I blogged a number of times on the subject of “Great Reset, Great Awakening and Great Deception” (see here for my last blog on the subject), concluding that the Great Reset and Great Awakening represented two alternative directions the world could be heading, with the proponents for each pushing their vision for how the world should go. Also, there was the Great Deception, affecting much of the world, that sadly includes the church, which in my view should be pushing for a Great Awakening of the right sort, i.e. turning people to the God of the Bible.
Essentially, I saw the Great Reset being led by the bad guys who were looking to enslave and kill off humanity under the guise of creating a better world (refer to pronouncements by the WEF and UN Agenda 2030), yet will eventually lead to the “Beast System” that is described in Revelation 13. As for the Great Awakeners, these are a mixed bunch, including many having a New Age spirituality. While those looking for an orthodox Christian revival could also be included, many in this group somehow saw the “Great Awakening” as an awareness of and reaction to this tiny, global cult and their nefarious plans, wanting its subsequent overthrow, to lead to a far better world, even when not aligning with my own Bible based views and even allowing the Devil in, operating as an angel of light.
The world has moved on significantly since then, including regarding the other subject of this blog – digital ids, that in the three years that has passed has been a lot more in the news. I still see evidence of the Great Reset, Great Awakening and Great Deception, that I had identified back in the day, in operation, with proponents of the first two groups seeking to influence global outcomes according to their own agendas and members of the third (potentially all of us) sucked into the falsehoods being pushed by members of the “Unholy Trinity” (media, politicians, elites), often unwittingly, which brings me to Charlie Ward and David Icke – see here for the Ward video and here for the Icke video.
Charlie Ward produces a daily news update, which I sometimes check out because it covers news I’m interested in that, regrettably, mainstream media doesn’t, opening my eyes to stuff that I might otherwise miss. Yesterday’s broadcast began with what Ward saw as the “Fall of the Cabal” (he had long been expecting) being played out (CABAL being his equivalent terms to Icke’s CULT). He sees the Cabal as having a hold over many institutions, including the British Royal family, the UN, the WEF, and centres based around the City of London, the Vatican and Washington DC. An example of the “Fall” happening is as a result of the present USA government shutdown, which has the effect of removing bad elements that were imposed on the USA in particular and the World in general. A key player in this controlled demolition of the cult/cabal is President Trump.
David Icke has recently been let back in onto YouTube after a long ban, and video clips of his keep popping on my YouTube feed, a few of which I check out. Like Ward, Icke provides us insights and information not available elsewhere. In this video clip, he begins by talking about nano technology and quickly moves on to digital ids, where the intention it be forced onto us, where the link is electro-magnetic communication, along with digital currency, how to control the masses, mass surveillance, 5G, AI, 15-minute cities (all we see being played out in China today). He points out, as has Ward, that Covid was a good example of a dry run when it came to how to control people. He made an interesting connection with Tony Blair when, under his tenure as Prime Minister, immigration began to spiral out of control, and with the view to undermine the culture and bring in the Cult’s agenda. He identified Tony Blair as the handler for Keir Starmer and the force behind pushing for digital ids, under the pretext of this being, among other things, a means to control illegal immigration (something he failed to achieve under his watch), and a classic example of problem, reaction, solution!
I would place both Ward and Icke in the Great Awakener camp, and yet, at least of the basis of what I have heard, while agreeing on much, e.g. concerning the tiny, evil cult/cabal that are involved in so much nefarious stuff going on, also disagree on much. For example, while Ward appears to see Trump as modern day knight in shining armour, Icke sees him, as he does with Blair and Starmer, as gophers for the Cult. While Ward appears to see a Great Awakening as work in progress and about to escalate greatly, Icke sees it as something yet to take place, although as more people wake up and resist (something now happening) this is becoming more likely.
At this point and for those who have read thus far but with certain consternation that someone whose recent blogs have been on Christ in the Psalms and Christian revival, should spend time checking out two archetypal conspiracy theorists, i.e. Charlie Ward and David Icke. I do not apologise for doing so and neither do I care if it gets me excluded from polite Christian circles, but my mission is searching out the truth irrespective from where I find it. Of course, Ward and Icke do not get everything right, far from it, and is why I always counsel “test and weigh” on top of “watch and pray”. Sometimes, what they claim can’t be proven (although often, even if only later, I find it can be). My concern is both that people, and especially real Christians, do not get hoodwinked, and nor do they get waylaid from their mission to preach the Gospel. I believe that by understanding more clearly what is truly happening around us, we will be better equipped for that mission and, while we won’t have all the answers, we can more effectively respond to events.
Which brings me, finally, to the main subject of this blog, which my gut feeling and much more besides tells me is going to affect us all, in a big way and, contrary to what we being are told, albeit if only down the line, will do so untowardly. When I asked Meta AI concerning the plans of the government for the rolling out of digital ids, according to its recent budget statement, it responded:
“The recent Autumn Budget 2025 did mention plans for rolling out digital IDs, with a provisional forecast cost of £1.8 billion over the next three years, split across £500 million in operating spend and £1.3 billion in capital expenditure. This funding will come from existing budgets, although no specific savings have been identified. The digital ID scheme aims to modernize public services, reduce fraud, and provide a reusable, government-backed credential for identity verification.
Key aspects of the digital ID plan:
– Mandatory for right-to-work checks: Digital IDs will be required to prove eligibility to work in the UK by 2029.
– Voluntary for other uses: Digital IDs will be optional for other services, such as accessing government benefits or online transactions.
– (link unavailable) Wallet: The digital ID will be stored on users’ phones in the (link unavailable) Wallet app.
– No central database: The government has confirmed there will be no centralized digital ID database.”
When I followed up by asking: “In their hoped for roll out of digital ids, what are the reasons given by the UK government for this and what are the main objections?”, it responded:
“The UK government’s reasons for introducing digital IDs include:
– Reducing Illegal Immigration: By making digital IDs mandatory for Right to Work checks, the government aims to prevent irregular migrants from working in the UK.
– Simplifying Access to Public Services: Digital IDs could streamline access to government services, such as driving license applications, welfare payments, and tax records.
– Preventing Identity Fraud: The government claims that digital IDs will reduce identity theft and improve security.
However, there are several objections to the digital ID plan:
– Security Concerns: Critics argue that a centralized database of personal data is a “honeypot for cybercriminals” and could be vulnerable to hacking and data breaches.
– Exclusion Risks: Mandatory digital IDs could exclude vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, those without smartphones, and people with disabilities, from accessing essential services.
– Surveillance and Privacy: Many are concerned that digital IDs will lead to mass surveillance and erosion of civil liberties, with the government having access to vast amounts of personal data.
– Cost and Effectiveness: The estimated cost of £1.8 billion has raised questions about the scheme’s value for money and whether it will achieve its intended goals.
The government has announced a public consultation to gather views on the digital ID scheme, which is expected to be rolled out by 2029.”
While I found AI’s response helpful, it did not address the concerns of my two conspiracy theorists, presumably because the algorithm that controls it is more in line with the official story and what one might find in mainstream media. These days, my social media feed is full of posts pointing out the bad side of rolling out digital ids, and that is a welcome sign. As for me, I will continue to follow expected developments, the arguments (pros and cons) for digital ids and what can be done (if anything) to stop a government intent on its introduction. I will try to ascertain the facts, hone my arguments and support initiatives to stop digital id roll out. Watch this space!
