It has been a four months since I wrote my last episode in my Trumpwatch series (see here) and a week since I wrote my third in my “Watching on the wall and what I am presently seeing” series (see here). Both of these blogs are pertinent when it comes to writing this present Trumpwatch episode.

I thought I would get away with not writing a new Trumpwatch instalment for the time being as I had already said a lot about Trump a week ago and the chap he met in Scotland – Britain’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer. In terms of backing up my concerns as to the direction my country is heading, and pertinent to this article, check out the recent posting of someone who sees things like me: “The United Kingdom is at Breaking Point! What can we do about it?” (see here). I note that since their meeting there have been significant developments in both the worlds of Trump and Starmer, which will have to be unpacked in future blogs, but here I will focus on Trump’s recent, memorable, short visit to Scotland and what came out of that meeting, which in my view was significant.

The news of Trump coming to Britain would have escaped me if it were not for the fact that snippets of his visit to Scotland, ostensibly to open another golf course, were all over the media, especially the part he played in his exchanges with Starmer, which if nothing else was of great entertainment value for those who look on with consternation at the mess Starmer and his lackies are doing to my beloved country and exposing the worse than ineptitude (and also the lies) of the Starmer administration, which (check out my watchman blogs) is ruining Britain. He was doing something our own political class is in the main failing to do (or at least by making it possible), and what I hoped he would do: helping waking people up and giving them hope in order to counter the prospect of going further down the GB succumbing to tyranny and folly path.

- He called out Sadiq Khan as being a terrible mayor of London and also a nasty person.
- He pointed out the attacks on free speech currently being escalated by the government.
- He pointed out the folly of building windmills in Scotland rather than turning to traditional energy sources.
- He pointed out the ruinous attacks on Britain’s farmers through inheritance taxation.
- He warned of the threats facing the UK of taking in too many (and of the wrong sort) foreign nationals.

I could go on, including the squirming of Starmer, in the light of all the above, which directly reflected on Starmer’s own policies and character. The jury may well be out on how well Trump is doing and where he fits on the good and bad guy spectrum. But I’m glad Trump, as POTUS, took time out to visit bonnie Scotland! As for future Trumpwatch material, there will no doubt be no shortage of stuff to consider as we see his part in turbulent times, when God who removes and raises up kings is at work. Just watch this space!
