QAnon, conspiracy theorists and what the h*** is going on?

According to Wikipedia:QAnon is a far-right conspiracy theory which began with an October 2017 post on the anonymous imageboard 4chan by someone using the tripcode Q, a presumably American individual that may have later grown to include multiple individuals claiming to have access to classified information involving the Trump administration and its opponents in the United States. The theory details a supposed secret conspiracy by an alleged “deep state” against U.S. President Donald Trump and his supporters. The account has falsely accused numerous liberal Hollywood actors, politicians, and high-ranking officials of engaging in an international child sex trafficking ring, and that Trump feigned collusion with Russians to enlist Robert Mueller to join him in exposing the ring and preventing a coup d’état by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and George Soros. “Q” is a reference to the top-secret Q clearance”.

In an article titled: “Q Anon and the Deep State Conspiracy Theories?” an entirely different perspective is presented: “If you haven’t heard about who Q or Q Anon is you probably will soon. In brief, Q is a high level government source who is clearly in President Trump’s inner circle. Since October of 2017 Q has been posting on the back channels of the internet regarding the fight to take down “deep state” corruption or as President Trump has stated “draining the swamp.” Q has communicated that he/they aren’t a single person, but are rather a group of under 10 who all post anonymously as Q or Q+. The detailing of what they are exposing and bringing down is so shocking that main stream media refers to it as the Q Anon conspiracy theories. Not surprisingly, the main stream media has been directly implicated by Q as being complicit with the entire deep state’s web of corruption. Q’s evidence is quite compelling on this matter”.

I mentioned these two very different explanations of the QAnon phenomenon as this is typical of much of the widely contrasting commentary that we (the general public) are exposed to when it comes in the controversial category. In the past year or so, I have come across reference to QAnon from time to time and while some of what they come up with might be deemed outlandish, others disagree, especially those who believe America and much of the world outside America have been in the grips of a globalist conspiracy to undermine nationhood and bring about a new world order (whatever that is) which while purporting to be benign and beneficial will effectively tyrannize and subjugate humanity. Q-Anon and supporters appear to view Trump as the instrument to reverse these evils. While some of what I hear rings true or at least is not to be dismissed given what I am seeing, yet like so much of similar ilk, I hear, weigh and wait to see what happens. On the more proactive side it helps inform my response to things taking place around me, e.g. regarding the censoring of conservative voices.

It is interesting that Wikipedia hits us with “far-right conspiracy theory” to dismiss Q-Anon, which few would disagree is a pejorative term. Yet so much is going on in the world around us and at an alarming rate that is difficult to figure out, partly because we do not have all the facts, and we have to rely on experts, who may have the facts but often these are selective and heavily subsidized with opinions based on their views and of who pays their wages. As I have often said, one of the big changes for me in recent years is I no longer trust mainstream media (MSM). I look to alternative media to help provide other perspectives to help me come to a view as to what the h*** is going on. Many of these are also categorized as perpetrators of “far-right conspiracy theory” and often they contradict one another such that some or all cannot be right. While conspiracy theory is seen as a negative, when I think of the JFK assassination, 9/11 and some of the recent mass shootings, it seems to me the official version of events are too often discredited, leaving me to wonder if part of the reason is a conspiracy to hide the truth.

In the past couple of weeks there have been hints that the Trump administration is about to go after (and have already begun) elements of the Deep State which will result in many well known and powerful persons being indicted. Part of the reason for thinking this is Q-Anon and other “conspiracy theory” sources have indicated such, and while their argument may feel compelling, it is not conclusive and for those of us who know only what others tell us it is a matter of wait and see. And yet this can apply to many major news stories. Two in the past couple of days are the deaths of G.H.W. Bush and the riots in Paris. People whose views I respect (I refer to Judge Jeanne Pirro and Alex Jones) have given different views. Pirro sees the late President as a hero and she cites many of his achievements as praiseworthy. But Jones sees him more as a villain, whose call for and collusion in a new world order is at the tip of his villainy. While the Paris riots is being reported as the result of the discontent of some over things like fuel price rises, it likely goes a lot deeper than that; and some see it is as a populist uprising against French President Macron’s globalist and open borders agenda.

I feel in presenting my conclusion I am a bit like the person who is rewinding the proverbial gramophone record. We are living in momentous times when events are unfolding at a rapid rate, when we can’t be entirely sure who to trust and who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. If it is part of the battle between nationalists and globalists, it is difficult to predict who will come out on top. It is tempting to pick news sources most closely matching our biases, which would be dishonest. But the good Lord in the good Book tells as to watch (and also weigh) and pray and in another place not to put our trust in princes but instead in the Lord God Almighty, who truly is in control. It is also good to be reminded of the words of comfort from the one who we should be following, the Lord Jesus Christ: I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world – John 16:33”
