As some of my readers know, I fancy myself as a reviewer of local eating places and this is coupled with a desire to discover new places to eat out, especially for my favourite meal of the day: a full English breakfast (egg, bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms).
It just happened and it was entirely unplanned, I found myself earlier today eating at the Glenwood café, Westcliff. It has been over 4 years since I have been there, and I know that having spoken to the owner who I did not recognize from before, who said he took over four years ago. I ordered the cheapest deal on offer, including tea and toast, and still had change from a fiver. As there are many combinations that could make up a breakfast, I was pleased they were prepared to swap items so I can have the mix I preferred.
Service was pleasant and swift. The décor was clean and airy. I noted an extensive lunchtime menu, noted for another visit perhaps. I was able to use the loo and read the paper while waiting. I enjoyed what was put before me and I considered it was good value for money. Now I have re-discovered the Glenwood and enjoyed my experience, it is definitely marked down for a return visit.
