A lighter post today … Those who know me well, will know I like my food, although on a less light note, too much food can lead to obesity, there is a case for more vegetarian as opposed to meat dishes, and too many people do not have enough to eat. But if I were to select a week’s worth of main meals (if say I were on a sea cruise) and I were to be indulged (hopefully with congenial company to go with it), this is what I might come up with, menu wise – and was thought out during a boring few moments in a church service 🙂
Day 1:
Starter: Nice museli
Main: Full English breakfast – bacon, sausage, kidney, fried egg, tomato, mushroom, hash brown, beans, fried bread
After: Toast and marmalade
Drink: Freshly squeezed orange juice, tea
Day 2:
Starter: Sea food cocktail
Main: Mixed grill – steak, pork chop, rack of lamb, kidney, gammon, sausage, fried potatoes, fried onions, mushrooms and tomato, peas
After: Knickerbocker glory
Drink: Florida orange with lemonade, Red wine, coffee
Day 3:
Starter: Italian meat platter (ham, salami), tomato, olive, gherkin
Main: Roast – beef, lamb, pork, turkey, ham; roast and baby new potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, cauliflower cheese, brussel sprouts, peas, carrots, gravy
Dessert: Rhubarb crumble and custard
Drink: Red grape Shloer, Rose wine, coffee
Day 4:
Starter: Garlic mushrooms, potato wedges, chicken wings, rib
Main: Steak and kidney pie, mashed potatoes, runner beans, brussel sprouts, peas, carrots, gravy
Dessert: Blackberry and apple pie and cream
Drink: White grape Shloer, Stella lager, coffee
Day 5:
Starter: Poppadoms and dips, onion bhaji, samosas
Main: Indian pick and mix – various curries
Dessert: Vermicelli, Kulfi ice cream
Drink: Mango Lassi, Kingfisher beer, tea
Day 6:
Starter: Seafood mix (Chinese style): mussels in shell, prawns, fish
Main: Chinese pick and mix
Dessert: Cheesecake and fresh fruit trifle and cream
Drink: Ginger beer, Tiger beer, tea
Day 7:
Starter: Prawn salad, salmon, advocado
Main: Fish (haddock, cod, skate, plaice), chips, peas, beetroot, spicy pickled onions, tartare sauce
Dessert: Cheese board selection (cheddar, stilton etc.), ice cream
Drink: Fresh apple juice, White wine, coffee
