In Part 1 (see here), I discussed the rationale and motivation behind my selections for an all-time “best” England Test Cricket X1 and an all-time “best” Rest of the World X1. I have been fascinated with cricket since I was a boy, and regularly follow Test cricket. Like many enthusiasts, I love to reminisce on players past and present.

Choosing my all-time “best” Test Cricket X1
I recall my being fascinated, when as a boy, having taken an interest in the game of cricket, reading pundits of the game giving their selections for their all-time “best” Test Cricket X1.
Continue readingHow about publishing something on what Jesus actually taught …
This was the recent request of a friend who probably is somewhat fed up finding my posts, which he sees as often combining my views on religion (of a fundamentalist ilk) and politics (right wing) and not about those things he cares about and, in his opinion, so did Jesus.
Continue readingThe CofE has a new archbishop
Yesterday, we learned of the appointment of Sarah Mullally as the new Archbishop of Canterbury. My social media feed has been awash with commentary (which I will get to), ranging from very positive to very negative concerning this first lady archbishop, an office that was seen (but no longer) as Primus Inter Pares (First Among Equals) of the Primates of the global Anglican Communion, which consists of around 85 million people across 165 countries.
Continue readingTrumpwatch 73 – Donald goes to England and then afterward
It was nearly two months after his Scotland visit (see here for my report), and Donald Trump visited England on a state visit – and what a splendid occasion it turned out to be.

Continue readingResponding to people, especially Christians, who don’t get “It”, and what is “It”?
Let me begin by asking you, dear reader, a question, before I attempt to answer my own and get on to my response. In the past week, we have learned of the assassination of Charlie Kirk (see here for my thoughts), the Tommy Robinson “Unite the Kingdom” rally (see here for my thoughts) and now we are on to Donald Trump’s still ongoing state visit of the UK (see here for what I wrote about his last visit to the UK) (all my “see heres” are pertinent, btw). My question is: what have all these events got in common?
Continue readingSome personal reflections as a result of yesterday’s “Uniting the Kingdom” London event
Yesterday a huge event was held in London under the title “Uniting the Kingdom”, discussed by the BBC under the headline “Dozens of officers injured as up to 150,000 join Tommy Robinson rally” (see here). It has been well reported and misreported (e.g. by the BBC) and it has attracted all sorts of disaffected “far right, racists” (according to some reports) intent on causing havoc and venting their grievances because of things like immigration, free speech and loss of British identity with, depending who you read, anywhere between 100,000 and three million people in attendance.
Continue readingThe Assassination of Charlie Kirk
I have found when it comes to my entrées into the blogosphere that sometimes these come in thick and fast and sometimes it is a matter of biding my time and finding the right subject to write about when it comes to what I see when I venture outside the camp. When I came home last night, I learned Charlie Kirk had been shot. Shortly before turning in I found he had been killed by an assassin’s bullet and already tributes were coming in. This became even more evident when checking out my social and other media feeds this morning, often coming from unexpected places. For such was this man’s impact that people were affected by someone they esteemed highly.
Continue reading“Earthquake in the City”, the coming mega economic crisis and modern-day prophecy
As we come to the end of our (UK) summer, I want now to reflect on some of my many, often related, recent forays into the blogosphere (see here), having gone “Outside the Camp”, en-route writing about some of what I have seen as a result of watching on my wall.
