These days, I watch hardly any television, but going back to my childhood, I watched a lot, and even now I have fond memories of my favourite TV series, both home grown (i.e. from the UK) or imported from the USA. I give a list (in no particular order) of my top ten and, except in the case of the last one, share links to where the episodes from the respective series can be freely watched on YouTube. I haven’t added reasons why I liked these particular series (suffice to say – I had my reasons), while recognising that some were better at developing a story line than others, and as for what these TV series were all about – I suggest check out Wikipedia etc.

“Why Revival Tarries”; hoping it won’t for much longer
Note: To help me prepare, I asked Meta AI about the evangelist / author Leonard Ravenhill, his classic book “Why Revival Tarries”, what is revival and for recent examples of revivals. I got more than decent answers, which I include in the appendix at the end (Google searches will also come up with helpful responses).
Continue readingChrist in the Old Testament
Folk who read my blogs might have cottoned on to the fact that I am currently doing a deep dive into the Old Testament with the view to finding out and reflecting on the texts where the Christ is referenced. This also relates to a series of Bible studies that I am currently leading at my own local church.
Continue readingChrist in Ezekiel
The following contains a downloadable PDF file with notes accompanying a Bible study I led recently, titled: “Christ in Ezekiel”, part of a series titled: “Christ in the Old Testament”.
Continue readingChrist in the Psalms (1)
My major deep dive Bible study project at this time is “Christ in the Old Testament”. I have already posted my thoughts on “Jesus on the Emmaus Road”, where this subject is opened up, “Christ in the Law” and “Christ in the Prophets”, where many examples can be found, and now I turn our attention to “Christ in the Psalms”. I share here notes from the slide presentation that I am giving at my own church.
Continue readingSaint and Greavsie remembered
I recently come across references to and clips from the Saint and Greavsie show, which back in the day I was a fan off and to this day remain my historic favourite football pundits.
Continue readingForeigners entering Britain
Note: this could have been a biggie (in terms of number of words) if I had elaborated upon my research and views. In order to keep it short, I include five appendices at the end, which one can check out to find out more, providing pertinent information and links to my writings and blogs, pre-empting questions readers might ask, e.g. “what do you mean by …” or “where’s your evidence for …”?
Continue readingDavid Icke and “Perceptions of a Renegade Mind” (1)
A little while back a video link popped up on my You Tube feed with the title: “I’m back, but for how long” (click here). “I’m back” was someone I put at the top of the list of renowned conspiracy theorists – David Icke, who I have known about and followed for quite some time. “I’m back” also carried a sense of irony as Icke, along with a number of others, had long been excluded from YouTube for expressing views that its controllers disapproved off.
Continue readingM*A*S*H – my all-time favourite American comedy
Recently, I followed an exchange where the discussion majored on the relative merits of British and American comedy. It made me realise that in the main I preferred British (but not all) over that of American comedy as it was more in tune with my own sense of humour. But there is at least one exception, and thus this blog – it is a series that I followed back in the day called M*A*S*H.
Continue readingGoing and belonging to a church, Church and churches, and the real Lord’s prayer
When I became a real Christian, aged 15, it was instilled on me the importance of getting involved in a local church. One illustration, indelibly etched on my mind is that of a coal in a fire. Remove it from the fire and it ceases to burn. Almost sixty years on, I want to reflect on what going and belonging (or not) to a church entails (or at least ought to) and some of the observations I have made during that time concerning my own and other’s church attendance.
