I recently learned of the passing of an old friend, mentor, thoroughly decent human being, gentle giant and Christian gentleman, Barry Owen, who I first met as a teenager when I began to attend Coleman Street Chapel, where he and his family were actively involved. He had been unwell for some time and needed carer support. Toward the end of 2024, three Chapel stalwarts, David Iles, Geoff Hayman and Paul Bullivant, all had passed away (see here and here for my tributes to them). All of them were well known to Barry, and while sadly Barry has left us, now he has joined them in their final rest.

Trumpwatch 68 – Israel/Gaza, Christian Zionism, Noahide Laws, Third Temple, Prophecy
The story has been told of someone who has been waiting for a bus for a long time and then more than one turns up in a matter of minutes. In Part 1 of our “Olivet Discourse series” (see here) we reflected on Jesus’ words concerning “The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times” and ended reflecting that given the nature of His “Fig Tree Generation” prophecy that those living at this time could be part of that generation. Today, I had lunch with my sister at Oldhams Fish Restaurant (see here for their website and see here for their Facebook page), in Westcliff (near to the Palace Theatre). It wasn’t planned but we both liked the idea of catching up while eating nicely cooked fish and chips and both of us have good memories of Oldhams over many years, and it was this that finally influenced our decision.

I have now come to another difficult to write about subject that I declared I would do soon after writing my “Watching from my wall (2024/25)” blog (see here) that I posted at the end of last year. It concerns masts that are regularly popping up all over the place of late and is all about, supposedly, the ongoing improvements being made in our national telecommunications infrastructure. It is a difficult task for, while my gut feeling is that this is an extremely important subject, it is not one that I am particularly expert on.
