We are still only in the first month of a new year and it is not without significance that this is the third time this month that Donald Trump has been a major component in what I blog about.

The first time it was concerning Venezuela (see here); the second time it was concerning Iran (see here). Whatever one’s views on DJT the man and, especially at this time, with feelings about the Donald running particularly high (ranging from very positive to very negative), lots is happening in the world and he appears to be in the centre of it. Moreover, things are happening at such a fast rate that it is difficult to keep up. Despite doing my research (and lots of it) and listening to views ranging from Trump supportive to downright derogatory, it is difficult to reach a fully rounded view on him and events happening, given the wheeling and dealing we don’t see and false narratives, and the world runs away seemingly out of control.

King Jehu

Concerning an article I posted ten months ago, titled: “King Jehu, Jehonoadab and the Rechabites, and Donald Trump” (see here), comparisons can be made with King Jehu (in the Bible) and Trump, who has been likened to zealous Jehu because of his words and deeds, noting opinions are sharply divided as to whether Trump is a modern day Jehu in terms of draining the swamp or merely a villain for various reasons with the list being as long as your arm, including recently and with a good deal of validity concerning his dismissiveness over the part allies to the USA played in the recent Afghanistan conflict. If we are to compare Trump with Jehu, it is worth noting that Jehu, who had been anointed for the task by God, began well by cleaning up the mess created by his predecessor, Ahab along with his wife Jezebel, including the globalist idols of Baal, but having done just that then created his own mess, which included the nationalist idols of the Golden Calf. Yet, as I watch on my wall, I can see many things Trump is currently doing that were necessary and it would be difficult to see how this would happen without Trump. One question asked is if Trump has a Jehu type anointing? I think yes! One final thought regarding my Jehu and Jehonoadab blog is that King Jehu was assisted in his task by God fearing Jehonoadab. I would like to think Trump will be assisted by today’s God fearers.

The Board of Peace

According to Meta AI: “The Board of Peace is an international organization launched by Donald Trump, aiming to resolve global conflicts and promote peace. Its primary focus is on rebuilding the Gaza Strip, but its scope has expanded to address other international conflicts. The board is chaired by Trump and has a founding Executive Board consisting of Jared Kushner, Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, and Tony Blair … It aims to promote stability, peace, and governance in areas affected by conflict. Its charter describes it as an “international organization” that will undertake “peace-building functions in accordance with international law”. The board will report to the UN Security Council every six months on its progress. Some countries, including France, Norway, and Spain, have declined to join”. Both pro and anti Trumpers have been sceptical concerning the viability of this group and intentions behind is formation. Views include Trump focusing on the art of the deal and furthering the economic interests of major players especially, adopting a strategy of keeping his friends close and his enemies even closer and this being part of his agenda, besides that of operating in the interests of the USA, to undoing the nefarious globalist world order (I often write about) and creating a new one, but with the jury out whether it will be worse or something a lot better. Meanwhile, we wait to see what happens.

Greenland

According to Meta AI: “Donald Trump’s ambition to acquire Greenland for the USA has been making headlines, and it’s a complex issue. Trump’s interest in Greenland stems from its strategic location and natural resources, particularly rare earth elements crucial for defense and green technologies. He believes the US needs control over Greenland to counter threats from Russia and China in the Arctic region. Trump has stated that he’d prefer to acquire Greenland through negotiations rather than force, emphasizing the importance of the island’s security for the US. However, Denmark and Greenland have firmly rejected Trump’s interest, citing sovereignty and international law concerns. NATO allies, including the UK, France, and Germany, have also expressed support for Denmark’s position. Recent developments show Trump backing off tariffs on European nations and ruling out military action, instead focusing on a framework deal with NATO for Greenland’s security. The US and NATO aim to update a 1951 agreement, ensuring US access to Greenland while blocking Chinese and Russian investments”. It was not so long ago that few people would have given a country so insignificant (it would have appeared) much of a thought, but it is now head line news with anti-Trumpers believing he has overreached with his unreasonable ambitions that throw in the face of the key matter of national sovereignty, yet now is an important part of the global chess game.

Davos

According to Meta AI: “Davos is the annual meeting place for the World Economic Forum (WEF), where global leaders from business, government, civil society, and academia gather to discuss pressing issues. This year’s meeting, Davos 2026, took place from January 19-23, under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue”.
Key Highlights:
– Global Risks: Geoeconomic confrontation, interstate conflict, extreme weather, societal polarization, and misinformation topped the risk charts.
– Artificial Intelligence: Tech giants like Tesla and Nvidia showcased AI innovations, sparking debates on job displacement and regulation.
– Energy and Environment: Discussions centered around energy security, renewable energy, and the impact of US policies on global climate efforts.
– US-China Relations: The recent trade deal and its implications on global economic stability were hot topics.
The event featured over 2,500 participants, including heads of state, CEOs, and thought leaders, aiming to foster dialogue and shape global agendas.
Donald Trump dominated the agenda at the 2026 Davos meetings, with his presence shaping discussions on geopolitics, energy, and trade. He addressed the World Economic Forum, highlighting his administration’s economic achievements and discussing NATO, while also outlining his vision for Greenland, emphasizing he wouldn’t use force to acquire it.
Key Highlights of Trump’s Involvement:
– Greenland Acquisition: Trump’s bid to acquire Greenland sparked trade tensions with European allies, who resisted his ambition, leading to concerns about US reliability.
– Energy Policy: Trump pushed for increased oil production, pausing wind parks, and promoting nuclear energy, drawing criticism from environmental advocates.
– Ukraine and Russia: Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, discussing peace deals, while Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev held talks with US officials.
– Trade and Tariffs: Trump’s threats to impose tariffs on European allies for resisting Greenland deal fueled concerns about US protectionism.
These developments rattled Europe’s trust in the transatlantic relationship, prompting leaders to seek greater decision-making autonomy”.
All of which I found fascinating, including listening to the speeches (notably Trump’s, along with his boasting) and following the exchanges, often done behind closed doors. I suspect what people have been able to gather from what went on is but a fraction of what actually happened. In true Jehu fashion, Trump has managed to shake the delegates at Davos (hosted by the WEF, who I see as in the main as the bad guys with their ungodly, globalist agenda, whose leaders have sadly dragged the leaders of my own country, the UK, into this) and now I expect a lot more to come out of it. As a British patriot, I look at what is happening in my own country with great consternation, with its band of hapless leaders (church, state etc.) and its own version of the Deep State, yet with optimism if we pray. Having seen Trump in action I see him inspiring much needed change, despite his many faults that his detractors readily point out.

Psalm 2

Much of what I have outlined above is pretty heavy stuff and a lot of it is also unsettling if it weren’t for the God factor. Recently I posted my thoughts on Psalm 2 (see here). When I see nations conspiring and often locking horns it is easy to become alarmed, especially as we appear helpless in the face of what is happening and we don’t know a lot of what is going on behind the scenes, other than our having more than an inkling that things aren’t what they seem or are being told. Even if we dislike Donald Trump, there appears little among the alternatives to inspire hope. But if you read the Psalm, you will note that David saw much the same 3000 years ago. But he took comfort that God is sovereign and his purposes will prevail. If I can make a plea to folk reading this – don’t trust anyone to deliver you, including Trump, but put your hope and trust in Almighty God, serve the Lord with fear and trembling and that you “Kiss the Son”!
