It has been nearly three months since I wrote my last instalment in my Trumpwatch series (see here), and given so much is happening in the world today, including and especially in the world of Trump, another episode (this one) is both due and overdue, so here goes …

This may surprise some who follow my musings on the world of Trump, who may have me down as a brainwashed Trump supporter who see him through rose tinted glasses – but I assure you that is not the case, and you will see why if you read on, particularly the three appendices, included here because I want to keep the main text short, and I think it is what many who read this would want, and because I need to move onto other projects on the go.

About Appendix 1

Quite often, when I check out my Facebook page, things spring out that capture my attention (especially now that its censorship has been relaxed) such that it both gets me thinking and challenges my perceptions. The text contained in Appendix 1 is a good example of this and is what I wrote on my page as I refer to the video featuring David Icke, titled: “The Agenda I Predicted Has Begun” (see here). In it, he repeats his claim that Trump is as bad as the bad actors he has (so it has been claimed) to have replaced, and this is contrary to the claims of those who support Trump, who see him as a knight in shining armor, citing opposition by and his attempts at draining the swamp, taking on the bad guys and being a universal peace maker, etc. As far as Icke is concerned, Trump and allies like Elon Musk, Larry Ellison and even unlikely as it may seem: Bill Gates and Keir Starmer, in rolling out the “AI Agenda” designed at controlling humanity, are merely doing what the “cult” plans and wants him to do, under the ruse of doing good. As I wrote in my posting following watching the video – “it got me thinking”, and is why I am happy to be taken to task by my Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) friends, the truth being: we don’t know half of what is really going on, so we must put our trust in God, who does.

About Appendix 2

Appendix 2 is the text from what a friend posted today on his Telegram channel, passing on the thoughts of “conspiracy theorist” Derek Johnson, along the lines “the white hats are winning”. My friend shares many of my views and also hopes. Part of that hope is that Trump has been raised up by God to tackle a good deal of the evil presently being manifest in the world and in support of those who want to be about implementing God’s righteous agenda (in my friend’s case, it arises out of what true prophets are now saying). Despite what I said earlier, it remains my hope too, along with this post’s claim that what is taking place, often behind the scenes, is a good example of the baddies being dealt with. But while I want to believe that is the case and side with those who see Trump as a much-needed antidote to that of the many obviously bad actors I have identified on the world stage, I can’t be sure. Often on my mind is the thought that Satan operates both as the Prince of Darkness and as an angel of light, all with the goal to achieve his evil ends.

About Appendix 3

All of which brings me to how might respond in the light of the two alternative scenarios being presented in my first two appendices. I am increasingly finding as things get ever more confusing and more people, including good, well-meaning types, succumb to deception, that some of my previous dogmatism had to go out of the window and is why we need to flee to God. Psalms 126 and 137, both set in the times of Israel’s captivity in Babylon, seem pertinent. In my Appendix 3, I share some of what AI told me about those Psalms. Things hadn’t gone well with those who were forced into exile, wondering what was happening and what might happen next. But their thoughts turned to God, who had the answers and it was where their hopes lay. I can only repeat that I’m merely attempting to “watch and pray” and to “test and weigh” but ultimately, our focus etc. needs to be on that same God of Israel and not on any man.

Appendix 1

I wrote after watching the video above – I should imagine that most people who follow me will see me as a pro Trump supporter, evidenced by many episodes of “Trumpwatch” from soon after he put his hat in the ring concerning the 2016 US Presidential race. He definitely is an enigmatic character and given the sort of people opposing him and the issues that he has tried to address, and the way he has gone about doing so, I found myself largely in agreement with the “Trump agenda”, so one might be excused for thinking that. BUT there is a however. Many, including among my among my biggest detractors, are looking for hope and it is tempting to look for it in this or that person. Besides “watch and pray”, I also try to “test and weigh”. David Icke of “our late Queen was a reptile fame” is one person most wouldn’t give the time of the day to, but despite getting it very wrong about the God of the Bible, he often speaks eminent sense and might even be looked on as a secular version of a Hebrew prophet. In this 44-minute video, he argues that Trump is as bad as the bad un’s he is meant to replace. It has got me thinking!

Appendix 2

Appendix 3

Psalm 126 is a beautiful song of restoration and joy. It begins with: “When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream” (Psalm 126:1).

The psalmist describes the Israelites’ return from exile as a dream-like experience, emphasizing the miraculous nature of their restoration. They’re overwhelmed with joy, laughing, and singing.

Key Themes:

– Restoration: The Lord’s intervention brings back the Israelites from captivity.

– Joy and Laughter: Their emotions overflow as they realize God’s goodness.

– Transformation: Sorrow turns to joy, and weeping to singing.

The psalmist isn’t in a dream; rather, the people feel like they’re in a dream, so surreal and wonderful is their new reality. It’s a powerful expression of hope and God’s faithfulness.

Psalm 137 is a powerful and emotional lamentation of the Israelites’ experience in Babylonian exile. The psalm begins with the iconic phrase “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept when we remembered Zion” (Psalm 137:1). This verse sets the tone for the rest of the psalm, which expresses the Israelites’ sorrow, longing, and even anger towards their captors.

Structure and Themes

The psalm can be divided into three parts:

– Vv. 1-4: The Israelites’ lamentation and refusal to sing in a foreign land

– Vv. 5-6: A declaration of loyalty to Jerusalem and Zion

– Vv. 7-9: Imprecations against Edom and Babylon, calling for divine retribution

Historical Context

The psalm is believed to have been written during the Babylonian exile (597-538 BC), when the Israelites were forcibly taken from their homeland and relocated to Babylon. The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple was a traumatic event, and the Israelites struggled to cope with their displacement.
