My best ever TV series

These days, I watch hardly any television, but going back to my childhood, I watched a lot, and even now I have fond memories of my favourite TV series, both home grown (i.e. from the UK) or imported from the USA. I give a list (in no particular order) of my top ten and, except in the case of the last one, share links to where the episodes from the respective series can be freely watched on YouTube. I haven’t added reasons why I liked these particular series (suffice to say – I had my reasons), while recognising that some were better at developing a story line than others, and as for what these TV series were all about – I suggest check out Wikipedia etc.

Adventures of Robin Hood

Howard’s Way

North and South

M*A*S*H

The Fugitive

Highway to Heaven

Porridge

Only Fools and Horses

Goodbye Mr. Chips

Dixon of Dock Green

PS as I reflect further, it occurs there are other “favourites” that I haven’t mentioned so far. I’m sure I will be able to think off more but for now let me add four, two from the science fiction genre – “Doctor Who” and “Star Trek”, especially “the Next Generation”, and two from other genres – “Bonanza” and “Columbo”.
