Breakfast at the Garon Park Golf Centre

Today, I had breakfast at the Garon Park Golf Centre with an old friend, who like me has more than his share of disabilities, such that both of us needed to find somewhere disabled friendly.

When we met up, we were undecided where to go but, in the end, we settled for the Garon Park Golf Centre (see here for their website) which I recall did a decent breakfast (as well as other meals) in a pleasant setting. I had once visited this place with another friend; it was at the height of Covid lockdown and had good memories of that experience. Since my current friend (like me) was up for somewhere new and different, and we were in the area anyway, we decided to give it a try despite not establishing whether they still did breakfasts.

But they did and we were not to be disappointed. Back in the day, I played golf regularly but never was much good and I nearly joined Garon’s golf club but didn’t (but that is another story). We arrived soon after 10 am and to my surprise the car park was fairly full (whether or not these were mostly golfers I couldn’t say). We soon found ourselves in the restaurant that was fairly disabled friendly e.g. seating. There was already good many there, mostly (it seemed) in the recently retired men category who were regulars who enjoyed the time to eat and socialise at a leisurely pace, along maybe with a game of golf. In fact, we stayed for nearly two hours, putting the world to rights etc., and in that time the restaurant filled up.

We both went for their main breakfast offering along with coffee and a later refill. Service and food were good and our interactions with the helpful staff were positive. While it wasn’t overly cheap yet, based on much experience, I would place the breakfast offering in the top drawer, especially the sausage! It was good decision to visit Garon’s and it is somewhere I would recommend, especially as this is not a place one might normally associate with more than decent breakfasts, served in a pleasantly relaxed environment by nice people and one that was far from the madding crowd.
