Trumpwatch 65 – is the dust beginning to settle?

It was only two weeks ago when I wrote my previous episode in my Trumpwatch series (see here), shortly following the news that the Donald had won the 2024 US Presidential race.

A lot has happened since then, which I want to at least touch on in this my latest Trumpwatch episode and ask the question “has the dust settled” and whether or not we can look forward to a season with the good guys in the ascendency, the opposite or somewhere in-between? I will touch on some controversial topics that could upset some Trump affirming friends: prophets who have prophesied against Trump, Trump’s pro-Israel picks for his administration and some who think Trump fits the bill as being the not yet revealed Antichrist. Fasten your seat belts then – this is going to be a rollercoaster but, as is my custom, I will end on a note of hope.

We now know the outcome – almost. Trump won the Presidential race (312 – 228) and Trump won in all seven of what are known as the Swing States. Also, the GOP won the Senate (53 – 47) and the GOP have won Congress (219 – 213) although three results (two weeks on) are still to be called! Did fraud take place, instigated by the Dems? Recently incarcerated by a corrupt judiciary, Owen Shroyer, thinks so (see here) as do I – but not on the monumental scale of 2020 because vote rigging would have been a lot harder to accomplish. I continue to check out sources (usually alternative) media to find out what is going on, e.g. Clayton Thomas Discusses Satanic Influence That We Must Disconnect with Nicholas Veniamin” (see here), believing there are evil forces afoot that no-one alone can deal with, not even Trump.

The prospect of Trump coming to power on January 20th 2025 has already had enormous global repercussions and for many of those believing there to be a globalist elite cabal intent on evil  running planet earth, with the assistance of useful idiots and villains, there is the anticipation that some/many of them are about to have their comeuppance with the good guys coming in and taking over? But we are still far from there – in the last couple of days the prospect of a third world war, including use of nuclear weapons, due to the upping of the ante with the US backing of Ukraine in its war with Russia, using more powerful weapons, is real while Trump, the great deal maker, his hands appear tied. The tit for tat firing of long range weapons that could carry nuclear warheads is already happening.

In an recent exchange with an awake to what is going on friend, who like me has health issues but wants to make a difference, touching on my recent studies in the Book of Daniel, wrote: “Hope you are enjoying the Trump victory so far – interesting times!” My tongue in cheek response was: “We do indeed live in interesting times and while I am enjoying a Trump victory as being a kick in the teeth to the scum who are trying to screw us, I have my reservations. One arising from my Daniel studies regarding the Antichrist is that this fellow is a boastful, narcissistic deal maker, which in my watching also applies to Trump but then what do I know? What I do know is that we (the Church) have that opportunity to be the radiant bride we are meant to be and in the light of our respective health challenges there is a part we can play”.

I began my Trump watching back in 2016 when Trump put his hat in the ring as a presidential contender. I sensed two things: firstly, Trump’s significance on the world stage, likely more so than any other world leader; secondly, that he could be God’s instrument for draining the swamp and as a wrecking ball to counter the plans of the afore-mentioned globalists. By thus speaking out, I lost some friends, including among respected Christian leaders, including those with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), but gained new friends, including some from the basket of deplorables. I became conscious that in a day when the very elect of God could be deceived, I too am not immune and of the folly of putting our hope in men. I have come to see that God imposes leaders (including bad ones) as well as deposes them, according to His sovereign will and our job is to be faithful to Him. I have reflected on Trump, the good, the bad and the ugly, and while I would much rather have Trump/Vance in charge over Harris/Walz, it would be remiss of me to overlook my reservations and reach out to Trump’s detractors and supporters.

In one recent Trumpwatch episode, I referred to a video by Catholic commentator, Michael Matt, (see here), where he expressed his qualms over Trump’s position on pro-life and traditional marriage issues, seeing this as a departure from previous Republican priorities and done in order to gather wider support, a subject he returned to after the result of the election was known (see here). In another recent Trumpwatch episode, I referred to a video titled “Dustin Nemos and Mike Adams talk prophecy, end times, Antichrist and revelations” (see here). While I didn’t agree entirely with the theological position of the two men in the video, I recognised they made what seemed to be valid points. Another Trump skeptic, Pastor Sam Adams, and one whose theological position more aligns with my own, has preached on not so dissimilar lines, e.g. TRUMP: Is he Fascist, Liar, Antichrist, or ALL THE ABOVE” (see here). My point is that in a world of bad guys ruling the roost (and many of Trump’s detractors fall into this category as well as others, like the current UK administration) we mustn’t replace one type of bad with another, nor trust in man. My reservations remain with how Trump handled the Covid “crisis”.

Talking of administrations, Trump has already made several appointments concerning his, including those outside the Republican mainstream, such as Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Junior. Unlike last time, these are Trump loyalists who are likely to support the Trump agenda. Having checked some out, I am optimistic they are what is needed at this time. Interestingly, two dissimilar Trump watchers on similar wavelengths to me, Calvin Robinson (see here) and Jan Halper-Hayes (see here) thinks so too. My biggest qualm is many/most are not just pro Israel (as am I) but are pro Zionist (in the bad sense) too and are partly bought and paid for by a powerful Zionist lobby which among other things are intent on shutting down valid criticism of Israel and using accusations of antisemitism when doing so. Rather than discuss my concerns further (which I have already done elsewhere and this in the light of my theological position that Israel (including the land) has not been replaced in God’s plans) I suggest readers check out: EVIDENCE OF A ZIONIST MAFIA HOW ISRAEL CONTROLS THE US AND GLOBAL POLITICS” (see here).

My last main point concerns prophecy, both Bible prophecy, especially that which relates to the End Times in which we live, and what I call modern day political prophets, a subset of prophets, some of which take little interest in politics and some are anti-Trump. Many in my own Grace Baptist set-up take the position that prophecy is not for today – and in my view they are wrong. Some though, rightly, point out that many who purport to be prophets are charlatans. In my early Trump watching days, I came across prophets like Kim Clement and Mark Taylor who correctly and positively prophesied concerning Trump. I continue to monitor what prophets have to say e.g. through Elijah Streams and Richard’s Watch. I do so with my “test and weigh” rider. The fact that today’s modern day “political” prophets do all not sing from the same hymn sheet is evident from reading articles such as: Prophetic elders denounce grievous false prophecy on Trump” (see here). Just as it is not my intention to elaborate here on my views concerning Israel, neither is it to do so when it comes to prophets and prophecy, while maintaining that both Israel and prophecy will be relevant factors when it comes to my future Trump watching.

Going back to the question I posed at the beginning; some dust is settling but in some cases it has gotten dustier. Reiterating an earlier point, our trust must not be in man, including Trump, but rather in the living God whose ways are perfect. I believe regardless whether Trump turns out to be Satan’s angel of light or (has sometimes been claimed) a modern day Cyrus, and/or we see Satan change from operating in Prince of Darkness mode, this is a time of great opportunity for the people of God, especially as the days become darker and people don’t know where to turn, for us to live for His glory. To end, by way of hope, I quote from the Book of Daniel: Daniel’s first and fourth visions (both concerning days still to come):

And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him” Daniel 7:27.

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever” Daniel 12:3.

President-elect Trump is not a Satan’s angel of light nor the prince of darkness nor he is Christian leader. He is a business leader who saw the decline of America like we all do. He was willing to leave the comforts his life and stop the decline of America. He chose the political process for that during 2016, 2020 and now 2024. The conservatives include Christians supported his candidacy all three times. In my opinion, for the next 4 years he and his team will be working hard to rebuild America and restore world peace. Any other insinuation about his leadership is without merit. Christians in America should pray for him.
