As with the proverbial London bus story, where you wait for an hour for a bus to arrive and then two come within a minute of one another, so it is with my Trumpwatch series – having posted a couple of weeks back after a break of several months, I post soon after, due to interesting, breathtakingly, blogworthy developments that have taken place in the world of Trump since last time.

Last time (see here) it was with the rider “and the dance goes on”; this time the rider is “and the show goes on”. Last time, the thought was: just as in “The Lord of the Dance” whatever mud etc. was slung at Donald J Trump, he took it all in his stride and continued with his MAGA and draining the swamp mission, taking the attacks aimed at him and responding, with relish and interest giving as good as he got. This time, more than ever, I have a sense that just as we are seeing a circus being played out on the world stage, and empathising with the Jewish exiles by the Rivers of Babylon, and that Trump is part of the pantomime. It comes with the rider that about what is going on, often behind the scenes, I along with everybody else know but a fraction what happens, but I probably know more than most, by virtue of my checking out what is going on in the world and not relying on what the often lying mainstream media tells me.

We began this the recent “assassination” attempt on Trump’s life, where according to who you follow (and I have checked out many different, sometimes opposing, accounts) on the one hand he survived due to a divine miracle that the Trump affirming prophets had said would happen, and according so some of my conspiracy pundits who I check out was done at the bequest of the Deep State and other Trump haters (of which there are many) to stop him securing the presidency at the next election. On the other hand, it was a staged event with the purpose of bringing detractors and waverers over to the man to carry out an agenda that could be seen in plain sight at the Republican (GOP) convention that took place soon after and where, unsurprisingly, Trump was to be voted in as their official US presidential candidate on next Guy Fawkes day (November 5th) and when he would announce (surprisingly to many) that his running mate would be J.D.Vance, someone who despite once being a never Trumper would be counted in to support the Trump agenda and draw in support from those in the swing states, because of his history of identifying with ordinary people.

A lot has been said already and more could be said about the Trump assassination attempt and soon after the long-awaited announcement of Vance being the vice-presidential candidate but I will keep my thoughts few despite having checked out numerous accounts, for I don’t have the fully rounded view of what to make out of all what has happened. I have made no bones about it in this Trumpwatch series and other writings that the current US administration are a bunch of fools and villains supported by a largely dumbed down public, including leading Christians who should be ashamed of themselves. But as I keep reminding myself and those who listen to me that the Devil does his worst as an angel of light rather than the Prince of darkness. What if, as one commentator has suggested, Trump is the Antichrist that according to the scriptures is to be expected and according to world events it could be around this time. We are for example in the throes of world war breaking out based on happenings in not one but three centres: Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan. One of the reasons that the AntiChrist is first lauded according to the Bible is he manages to bring about peace, the very thing Trump claims (with good reason) that he would do if he became President. The plot thickens as this Jimmy Dore video (JD Vance Deep Ties To The Surveillance State) argues, and as always the message I give has to include the exhortation:

One of the interesting checking outs I have done over the past few days is Russell Brand hosting his show at the GOP convention, which I found both entertaining and informative, especially with his wide array of guests with much that was meaningful to say. It has become clear from what I can make out that the Republican Party has gone further down the road of being taken over by the sort of MAGA types, thinking more along the lines of a Trump than a Bush, being anti-war and leaning to nationalism rather than globalism and by picking Vance as his running mate it is evident that Trump no-longer has to appease those who once dominated the party with their neo-conservative views. Many concerns I have been raising have been shared by some of Brand’s guests that, sadly, too few on the UK side have been raising, as a blanket of deception has fallen over the eyes of those with the power to change things, although ordinary people are waking up and with God there lies our hope.

One interesting guest on Russell Brand’s show was Nigel Farage who some would think should have been back in the UK rallying the opposition to Keir Starmer’s Labour government already showing signs of doing the wrong things I have feared they would. It is early days, but the points of concern I raised in my first 2024 General Election blogs have been shown up in these first two weeks and we need a voice to make the case, which will not be provided by the Green, LibDem and Conservative sections of the opposition, but hopefully might by Farage’s Reform Party, although my recently raised concerns (see here) remain. A blog articulating my thoughts on these matters is in the offing but then Farage is right in discerning that the US is where the main action is at this time and I understand and sympathise with him travelling across the Pond to be where that action is and wanting to lend his support to someone he clearly admires and identifies with, and wants to work with.

Events on the world stage have been unravelling at an alarming rapid pace on many fronts, such that it is difficult to keep pace and know who to trust for truthful reporting. While it looks as if we are heading for a stand off between Trump and Biden, nothing can be taken for granted, especially in the light of Biden’s competence and his minders’ plans to replace him in the presidential race. The hugely significant global IT outage is perhaps the latest in a long line of troubles and I expect more to come, including those of the unexpected ilk. I have concerns and questions on many fronts noting the propensity of people recognising something is wrong, looking for help to sort things out, often from the wrong quarters.

Personally, I have been convicted of my propensity for despair and depression because things aren’t as they should be. Equally, I have learned the hard way the need to be humble and gracious when people, including earnest Christians, see things differently and, rather than tut tut over all the disagreeable things happening, to be the person God wants me to be. Most importantly, our trust and hope must be in God Almighty. While things appear to be bad and to say so attracts ridicule etc., we do well to recognise God is good all of the time and is in complete control however bad things look.
